The Board of Directors of the Public Welfare Foundation today approved nearly $2.4 million in grants, including more than $1.7 million in the Youth Justice Program, $320,000 in the Criminal Justice Program, and $300,000 in the Workers’ Rights Program.

Criminal Justice Program
Prison Fellowship – Lansdowne, VA – ($320,000 – 2 years)
Support to mobilize grassroots prison ministry volunteers to advance sentencing reform in target states.
Youth Justice Program
Community Connections for Youth – Bronx, NY – ($325,000 – 2 years)
Support to provide technical assistance and training to build community capacity for alternatives to youth incarceration and to reduce racial disparities in juvenile justice systems.
Human Rights Watch – New York, NY – ($250,000 – 2 years)
Support for research and advocacy to reduce the number of youth tried as adults and reduce youth incarceration in California.
Innovation Network, Inc. – Washington, DC – ($285,000 – 3 years)
Support for an independent evaluation of the Youth First Initiative.
Youth First – Washington, DC – ($900,000 – 2 years)
Support for a national initiative to end youth incarceration and redirect resources toward community programs.
Workers’ Rights Program
Center for Public Integrity – Washington, DC – ($300,000 – 2 years)
