Sheena Meade

Sheena Meade is the Chief Executive Officer of the Clean Slate Initiative, a national bipartisan coalition advancing policies to automatically clear all eligible criminal records across the United States. Sheena brings an enormous wealth of personal and professional experience to this role, and is deeply committed to ensuring that the individuals, families and communities most impacted by the justice system remain at the center of the reform movement.

Prior to joining the Clean Slate Initiative, Sheena served as the Director of Strategic Partnerships for the bipartisan Florida Rights Restoration Coalition (FRRC) and Senior Advisor to the Second Chances Florida Campaign. Sheena previously served as Criminal Justice Program Officer at Galaxy Gives, where she worked alongside communities to allocate funding and resources directly to those most impacted by the justice system.

Sheena has deep expertise in grassroots organizing and leveraging community power. Sheena served as the Southern Deputy Director for Bread for the World, led coordinated advocacy and legislative work for the Florida AFL-CIO’s Labor Council, founded the Florida Young Workers AFL-CIO, and served as the South Carolina State Director for the Services Employees International Union (SEIU) Americans for Health Care campaign.

Sheena currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Policing Project NYU School of Law. Sheena also serves on the board and development committee for the Florida Coalition on Black Civic Participation, and as a Council Member on New Venture Fund’s REDI Council.
